The Vista Opens Its Doors

The Vista Opens Its Doors

To better serve the community, Christian Health’s brand new, state-of-the-art independent living community, The Vista, is now open. The single building structure straddles Wyckoff and Hawthorne and will provide inspired living, featuring an abundance of amenities and services in a vibrant and engaging environment. This growth expands Christian Health’s existing communities on its 78-acre Wyckoff/Hawthorne campus. Christian Health also owns and operates two additional communities in Wayne, NJ.

The nearly 400,000 square-foot community features 161 finely detailed apartment homes overlooking the Ramapo Mountains with 20 different spacious, single-level floor plans ranging from 800 to almost 3,000 square feet with patios or balconies. Among the many amenities are three different dining venues from fine to casual to al-fresco dining, an indoor pool and spa, salon and day spa, fitness center, artist’s studio, indoor and outdoor gardening centers, performing arts center, golf-simulator lounge, devotions and wellness centers, and dedicated spaces for life-long learning and programming opportunities. Richly landscaped grounds showcase an outdoor patio with fire pit and manicured walking paths. Plans are underway for numerous social, cultural, educational and spiritual programs and events, along with fitness and wellness programming.

“We are very excited to open The Vista’s doors and welcome our first Charter Residents to experience the exceptional amenities and services-focused independent living at Christian Health,” said Douglas A. Struyk, CPA, LNHA, Christian Health’s President and CEO. “We are dedicated to offering a safe, healthy, and lively independent-living community designed specifically to better serve our dynamic Vista residents to enjoy socialization, fellowship, and create their next chapter together.”

Residents will relish in comfort, convenience, peace of mind, and added financial benefits with an option for a Life Care contract. Christian Health provides award-winning assisted living, skilled nursing care, short-term rehab, and mental health services – in separate buildings but still all located on one main campus. This complete continuum is an important distinction.

Some of The Vista’s many other services include an in-house concierge, around-the-clock security, twice monthly housekeeping, underground reserved parking, maintenance, repairs, and landscaping. Additionally, The Vista’s all-new construction includes brand-new, top-of-the-line finishings, individual HVAC systems, an enhanced fire system designed to be above code and commercial grade, and state-of-the-art technology for live streaming and Wi-Fi throughout the community.

With only a few floor plan options remaining, The Vista is attracting residents from throughout New Jersey, New York, and even further out of state – some as far as California and Florida. In addition, The Vista is attracting top talent bringing the expertise of four-star, resort-style living by way of an experienced team of leaders and staff.

“The Vista’s new Dining Director is Ann Marie Poduska with more than 20 years of hospitality and restaurant experience including Marriott International, New York Marriott Marquis,” said Patrick Duffy, The Vista’s Executive Director. “Ann Marie will oversee the entire food and dining program throughout The Vista’s three restaurants. The Vista’s Executive Chef Mark Sokolosky holds an AOS Culinary Arts degree from the Culinary Institute of America. Mark comes to The Vista with over two decades of country club and fine dining experience in New York and New Jersey, understanding the tastes and expectations of our Vista residents. Ellen DeBel, RN-BC, C-AL, CDP, serves as The Vista’s Wellness Coordinator focusing on The Vista’s health and wellness program including aquatics, fitness, and preventative wellness at the Wellness Center. Teela Ferriola is The Vista’s Resident Services Coordinator responsible for creating the many events, activities, and social and life-long learning programs for The Vista residents, especially at The Vista’s dedicated Performing Arts Center.”
